Lush velveteen Maxi Skirt 1970s
The fabric is just beautiful. Rich cotton velveteen with Mod-Nouveau floral pattern. The background is the deepest Black/Blue color. It is so dark I have had one person swear it is black. Others can see the blue in it. The swirling floral pattern uses several vibrant colors. Red.. purple.. teal.. pink.. orange.. white.
Long A-line shape with fitted waist. Team it up with any number of tops. Try a skinny sweater or bolero jacket. For a dressy look wear it with a halter top or sleeveless shell. A filmy off the shoulder peasant blouse (in red!) would be my pick. The skirt has a Lord + Taylor tag
Generous Medium around a modern size 8-10
Waist 32"
Hips 44"
Length 39" with a 2 1/2" hem

Breathtaking hand print wrap skirt from the 1960s-70s.
The fabric was hand silk screened on cotton twill and created in St. Lucia by a small company called The Bagshaws. I believe they are still in operation. It has the blue and white signature label with double seahorse logo and The Bagshaws of St. Lucia W. I.
The modern patterns are often floral but the vintage motifs seem more artistic. This one features an ornate Etruscan-inspired pattern with mythical mirror image birds. The colors are lavender and navy on a pink background.
The skirt a tie wrap with deep side vent. Most wrap skirts are flexible in size but this one has less leeway. There is a back under panel in pink that will peek out if it is on a larger frame. It says small and will work best on some one with the following range of measurements.

Waist 24"-26"
Hips 34"-37"
The length is 39"

Whimsy 70s Style!!

Fabulous and fun skirts from the 1970s. Whimsical, oversized images all handpainted by "Fran". One of them still had it's hang tag pictured below. I suspect Fran was a local textile artist. This was the type of thing that sold in the 70s in trendy boutiques to the country club crowd. Sort of Preppy gone Psychedelic!
They are A-line, wrap style skirts made out of cotton denim or canvas. All are signed by the artist.
They would look cute-as-can-be with a coordinated color halter or tank top and plastic beads around the neck don't you think?
The sizes are all the same, a flexible small to a generous medium. They should fit any waist from 26" up to 30". They are all about the same length 29"-30" from waist to hem. None were ever worn.

All in Excellent Condition!

Funky 1970s shirt with animal motif. The print on this shirt is quite pretty it looks like a watercolor of giraffes, zebras, elephants and jungle trees. The colors are shades of aqua, with gold accents and black outlines. The cut of the shirt is typical of the 1970s with pointed collar, narrow cuffed sleeves and fitted torso. The material is a semi-sheer nylon crepe. The size is an old 7/8 which is more like a todays 5/6. The bust measures 33".
