Wrap halter style jersey dress from the 1970s. The fabric is a silky synthetic jersey in beautiful azure blue with random iris print. It has an empire waist with gathered surplice bust which wraps up around the neck in a mock halter style. The skirt is fitted through the midriff and falls to a sweeping hem. In my detail photos, if you look at the close-up of the bodice you will notice a darker shape on the right side. This is not a flaw, it is the shadow of the iris print on the underlayer of the bodice. There is no makers label just the size and care labels. The size is small and will fit around a modern 2 to 4. There is some stretch to the fabric so I will give a range of measurements it should work for. The bust measurement is the least flexible. Also note, the original owner was petite in height so the dress has been shortened. If you are under 5'3" it can be worn as a gown. If you are taller it will be around ankle length or shorter. The sleeveless dress has a nautical flavor with blouson scoop neck bodice elasticized waist and full swing skirt. The adjustable shoulder straps button to the bodice in back with white plastic buttons. There is a self fabric sash that ties at the waist. This dress was never worn and has it's original tags. #5140 click to enlarge and see other views	Ethnic inspired Mod. I am so enamored of this little dress. The fabric is a unique acetate and nylon blend.. It has a woven crinkle texture with a colorful Mod border print. The dress is sleeveless with a V neckline and oversized tailored collar. The waist is defined with a border print band and the full pleated skirt has a deep border print edge. It was made by L'Ainglon in the later 1960s. All of the L'Aiglon dresses I come across are beautifully cut and they used exceptionally nice fabric. I've never met a L'Aiglon dress I didn't like! The eye-catching print uses lots of bright color against a crisp white background. The border print has an ethnic Eastern European feel to me. Some of my favorite textiles are from that area of the world. Generous medium size around a modern 10. #5137 click to enlarge and see other views	Cute and young at heart, Mod striped dress from the late 60s - early 1970s in lime and navy acrylic double knit. A unique fabric, the navy stripe has a heather quality to it. It is a straight shift dress with long narrow sleeves and oversized pointed collar. There is a center front zipper (will close to the neck if you want) and ties at the waist with navy leatherette cord. This cutie was done by Kay Windsor "the look you love" Mini's are on their way back and this dress would look great shortened. I would use the extra fabric to make a wide headband to match. Generous Medium in size with some stretch it should fit a modern 8-10. Measurements taken without stretching. #5134 click to enlarge and see other views	Ladylike with a twist! Mod harlequin print dress from the 1960s. The cut of the dress is a loose sheath style with bracelet length (above the wrist) sleeves and soft rolled collar. In a plain fabric it would be ever so prim but the bold harlequin print and silky acetate knit transform this simple dress into a wild little number. The acetate knit is whisper light with a sensual drape....smooth as a silky slip. It has a self fabric cord belt which you can tie at the waist or for a different style just under the bust creating an empire look. There is a back metal zipper. The pattern is clean and modern . A modified all over harlequin check in bright shades of amber, blue and orange. The checks are defined by jagged black borders. Mini's are on their way back and this dress would look great shortened. I would use the extra fabric to make a wide headband to match. Small/medium in size with some stretch it should fit a modern 6-8. Measurements taken without stretching. Nubby boucle crocheted body... argyle diamond pattern in front, plain in back. WONDERFUL "calypso-feel" shaggy looped sleeves. Wide neckline...the sleeves are bracelet length meant to show the wrist. Would look Hollywood-Fab over skinny white leather pants or jeans with wedge sandals. Med size with the following measurements before stretch. Vdesign in front and down the sleeves... Plain white in back... Wide neck. The sleeves are bracelet length, cut to show the wrist. Oversized, it would look great over leggings or"skinny" jeans. #5109 Click to see enlarged views	Very Lilliesque hand print cotton dress from the 1960s. The label is missing from this dress but I am fairly certain it is Lily Pulitzer. If not then another equally talented designer. The cotton has a lavender background with green white and magenta "Mod Tropics" flower print. Sleeveless fitted bodice with novel notched collar. Thick white cotton lace defines the center front and waistline. Nicely cut A-line skirt with just enough drape. The dress is constructed in the Lily tradition with white cotton batiste underlining and lace hem binding. The size is a generous medium around a modern 10. Bust 43"''... Waist 33''.... Hips 44''... #5111 Click to see enlarged views	Quirky little High School dress circa 1960s. Young women were not allowed to wear pants to school in the 1960s it was considered unlady like. Instead they had to wear either a dress or skirt. The mini skirt was all the rage and "school" dresses were shortened to ultra daring, barely there lengths. The girls whose Mothers and Dads forbade the scandalous mini well... they wore skirts instead which were promptly rolled up at the waist once out of sight of their homes. Schools were having a heck of a time enforcing skirt length rules. Parochial schools would have the girls kneel down and if the hem did not touch the floor she would be sent home to change AND given detention. This little dress was never used but it most certainly would have been been shortened before it was worn by any self respecting modern 60s gal. As short as the principal would allow! Crisp white nylon lace bodice with spring green rayon poplin skirt. The bodice is semi fitted with lace trimmed Peter Pan collar and 3/4 sleeves. The "Bell Bottom" sleeves are also lace trimmed... Dropped waist with thin black patent leather belt and stylized bow. The skirt has a very slight A-line and comes to the knee. The size is small about a modern 4-6. Bust 35"'... Princess lines...A-line Skirt with double inverted pleats. Two white trimmed pockets are whimsically placed high just under the bust line. There is a decorative half belt in back (See enlarged pictures). Metal back zipper. The maker was Arnelle of California, San Francisco. A generous medium around a modern 10 Bust 39''... #5098 Click to enlarge and two see both dresses plus back	Sexy 70s Halter dress times two! I have two of these lovely dresses. They were never worn pieces still with the original tags, from a funky boutique that closed in the 1970s. The dress is done in a drapey nylon jersey. The body is black and the halter neck is a Missoni like stripe. There are two color combinations of stripes. The smaller size has a predominant aqua stripe and the medium a bolder raspberry stripe. (see detail pictures) The dress is fitted in the body with a flirty A-line skirt. It ties at the back of the neck. Size x-small and medium with the following range of measurements. #5099 Click to enlarge	Silky acetate jersey gown circa early 1970s. This wonderful dress came from the auction of the contents of a hip little boutique which closed its doors in the 1970s. The material is a vibrant lilac with stylized floral contrast collar. The neckline is V and it has an exaggerated sailor collar with very long ties. You need to take a peek at the detail pictures to get the real look of this fabulous collar.The dress is fitted through the body with a floor length flowing skirt. It zips up in the front. The label reads Mod Whirl California. The size is smalland the material has stretch. It will fit the following range of measurements.
