Vintage Decor

The perfect gift for your favorite Vintage buff (OR yourself!)
I am always searching for fashion related ephemeral. It is from old fashion and garment trade magazines that I glean a tremendous wealth of knowledge. I came across these gorgeous fashion plates from the 1930s and 40s at an antique book shop in Vermont. Years ago someone had lovingly mounted them on bristol board but never managed to frame them. They were so beautiful I just had to have them all! I put them in stained hardwood frames with mattes to complement each scene and they are stunning! Each frame measures 17" by 14" and all have glass protecting the picture. The pictures are from old magazines, many say Conde Nast on them. None of them identify the designers or models but they certainly represent the cutting edge looks of their day. I took the liberty of giving them my own titles for identification purposes.
What a wonderful wall display they will make. Highlight a single favorite or group a few together. A nice idea would be to put a small shelf beneath one and use it to display a few favorite vintage accessories. Perhaps a lovely bag and shoes with a scarf or costume jewelry arranged just so!
Each lovely picture has a wall bracket and they are priced at...

The Holiday Hostess with the Mostest!
Adorable little Holiday apron. Red and White pinstripe cotton with Large red patch pockets decorated with "Liquid Embroidery". This was a popular craft project in the 1960s. It really was more of a form of fabric painting but someone came up with the clever name Liquid Embroidery and Viola' every one was doing it! One pocket says Happy with a candy cane the other Holiday with candles. The apron gathers at the waist and measures 26" across the bottom. It is 17" in length. The edges are bound with red bias tape.

3 color umbrella.

1930's or 40's Rayon umbrella with lucite bands. I don't know much about the history of umbrella, I just really like the way older ones look. This one has lovely fabric in eggplant, rust red and acid green stripes. The handle is an amber lucite material with a grooved detail. There is a little braid wrist cord. It in great working order but the fabric has a few small holes in it and has a little fading along the creases. There is no name just a little tag with the number 4 on it. Most folks collect these umbrellas but you could use it as a parasol too. I don't recommend it to be used as a rain umbrella. The length is 24".
